ORIX METRO Strengthens Its Commitment to Environmental Stewardship

Continuing our journey of Malasakit at our adopted forest in Masungi Georeserve.

Our commitment to the environment goes beyond planting. It means coming back, caring, and seeing things through.

ORIX METRO visited our adopted forest in Masungi Georeserve for the first time, reinforcing our long-term role in nurturing what we have started under the Adopt-a-Forest Program. In the bamboo-rich Buhan area where ecosystems thrive through balance and resilience, we focused on caring for the 2,426 trees we planted last fiscal year, including native species like balobo, camagong, and paguringun.

According to PAGASA, El Niño conditions continue to bring below-normal rainfall and prolonged dry periods in several areas, reducing soil moisture and placing added stress on young trees. This makes the timing of our tree-nurturing activity critical. Through direct care such as soil conditioning, moisture support, and site maintenance, we help strengthen their resilience and improve survival during this vulnerable stage.

Seeing the progress of our adopted forest firsthand reinforces a simple truth: Malasakit is continuous. Real impact comes from consistently caring for what we have started and staying committed to the growth we hope to achieve. We continue to grow not just trees, but a culture rooted in responsibility, sustainability, and Malasakit for future generations.
