Caring for the environment has become part of how we live our values at ORIX METRO. Through the years, our commitment to nature has gone beyond tree-planting activities. We continue to find ways to care for the environment, nurture what we have planted, and support the communities that help protect our forests.

In partnership with Masungi Georeserve, this commitment has grown into a continuing environmental initiative. Through our Adopt-a-Forest Program, ORIX METRO supports the rehabilitation of a hectare of forest in Baras, Rizal, while our employees take part in activities that bring our Malasakit for nature into action.

ORIX METRO continues to strengthen its sustainability efforts through the responsible management of its IT assets. For the third time, ORIX METRO has partnered with Humble Sustainability to responsibly handle obsolete and end-of-life IT equipment.

ORIX METRO Group participated in heART FOR A CAUSE, a benefit dinner and concert that combines art with advocacy. This initiative supports children with congenital heart disease (CHD), featuring works by interdisciplinary artist Kat Garcia and products from BAYO Foundation’s HARVEST Creative Hub. The event highlighted the journey of children battling CHD, with proceeds going directly to life-saving procedures.

As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship and community development, ORIX METRO undertook a mangrove reforestation initiative in Barangay Cagsao, Calabanga, Camarines Sur in 2019.

The project brought together employee volunteers from the company’s South Eastern Luzon branches—Naga, Legazpi, Daet, and Sorsogon—as well as the Head Office to plant 5,000 mangrove propagules along the shores of San Miguel Bay. The activity formed part of ORIX METRO’s corporate social responsibility efforts to promote environmental conservation while supporting the long-term resilience of coastal communities.

Following the completion of the 15-week Transform Program, ORIX METRO, in partnership with International Care Ministries (ICM), visited the community of Brgy. Sto. Niño, Toril, Davao City. The visit was joined by ORIX METRO President Angelo Padua and ICM Chief Development and Finance Officer David P. Jones to witness the program’s impact firsthand.

During the program, the community was empowered through health education, values formation, and livelihood training. Families applied their new skills to start small businesses, including producing sinamak and banana chips, demonstrating resilience and the ability to rise above extreme poverty.

This initiative reflects ORIX METRO’s commitment to creating sustainable change, turning compassion into meaningful action.

ORIX METRO successfully completed its first Transform Program in partnership with International Care Ministries (ICM), marking a milestone in the company’s mission to create lasting, positive change in the communities it serves.

Transform is ICM’s core strategic program designed to address the diverse challenges faced by ultra-poor families. It begins by creating a supportive environment where hope can take root and continues by building sustainable systems that empower people to rise above poverty. Through months of training and mentorship, the adopted community in Dumoy Toril experienced transformation in three key areas: health, livelihood, and values.

Representing ORIX METRO at the graduation ceremony were Davao Branch Head Marco Banaay, Dealer Relationship Head Rizalyn Pogoso, Robert John Son, and Owen Ardepolla. Their presence reflected ORIX METRO’s commitment to Malasakit in action, bridging opportunities, nurturing growth, and walking alongside communities as they take steps toward a better future.

ORIX METRO, in partnership with International Care Ministries (ICM), distributed nutritious meal packs to 564 families across the Blaan, T’boli, Ilocano, and Bisaya communities. The recipients, whose livelihoods depend on farming (coconut, banana, corn, and vegetables), charcoal making, and fishing, received relief at a critical time of need.

Demonstrating its continued commitment to environmental stewardship, ORIX METRO volunteers recently participated in a meaningful conservation activity at Masungi Georeserve in Baras, Rizal, marking the official launch of the Adopt-a-Forest collaboration at the Upper Marikina Watershed.

Together with Masungi Georeserve Co-Founder Billie Dumaliang, ORIX Rental Corporation President Jun Bacabac, Operations Group Head Aura Montenegro, Operations and Corporate Services Group Head Mike Bautista, and fellow ORIXers, the team came together with a shared purpose: to help protect and preserve the environment through small yet impactful actions.

In support of environmental sustainability and responsible corporate citizenship, ORIX METRO joined a tree-planting activity at the Toyota Forest located within the Toyota Vehicle Center in Batangas City. The initiative was conducted in partnership with Toyota Motor Philippines Foundation and Metrobank Foundation, Inc., bringing together organizations committed to making a positive impact on the environment.
